Straight answers, no runaround
The questions we get asked every week, answered the same way we would answer them standing in your pasture.
Will a Woodys barn hold up in a Florida hurricane?
Yes. Every structure is engineered to your county's newest wind code, with site specific ratings that range from 120 mph up to 170+ mph, using commercial grade hurricane ties, uplift resistant roof fastening, and deeply anchored foundation piers. In 18 years of business we have never lost a single barn to a hurricane. It is one of the top reasons customers choose us.
How we hurricane rate a barn →How much does a barn cost?
All of our barns are custom designed and built on your property, so there is no catalog price to quote from. Size, layout, finishes, doors, stalls and site all move the number. Tell us what you are picturing and we will price exactly that, at no charge.
Get a free quote for exactly what you want →Do you offer financing?
Yes, flexible and hassle free financing through our partner Hearth. You can check your personalized monthly payment options and prequalify in under two minutes with no hard credit pull, so it won't affect your credit score. Hearth works with a network of top lenders for competitive rates, fixed monthly payments, and zero prepayment penalties.
See financing options →Do I have to pay everything upfront?
No. We only require a 20% deposit at contract signing. The balance is split into milestone draws tied to the work, including a draw at concrete, so you are paying as your barn actually goes up.
Who handles the site work?
A properly cleared, elevated and compacted, well-drained foundation is critical to the structural integrity of your build, which is why we highly recommend Dunwirkyn Land Development LLC as your dedicated site work company. They specialize in the heavy machinery, grading, and soil compaction required to perfectly prep rural land for our construction crews. We can also provide a list of the site specifications and clearance dimensions YOUR sitework company will need.
What's the smallest barn you build?
We build from a single stall shed row all the way up to 200 stall equestrian facilities. Open pole barns start at a 1,000 sq ft minimum. If you have a small footprint, a shed row is usually the simplest way to get started.
I need electrical and plumbing. Do you handle that?
At Woodys Barns, specialized electrical and plumbing services are outside our official scope of work, as we leave those technical systems entirely to licensed trade professionals. Our expert builders focus exclusively on erecting the structural shell, roofing, framing, concrete and siding of your building. Once our construction permits are fully closed and finalized with your local building department, you are free to bring in your chosen contractors to run wires, install fixtures, and complete any customized finishing work inside your new barn.
What metal colors can I choose from?
At Woodys Barns, we combine rugged construction with premium aesthetics by utilizing top-tier Mid Florida Metal Roofing Supply panels for our barn roofs and walls. To optimize your budget and project durability, we offer a specialized palette across two heavy-duty steel thicknesses. Our standard 29-gauge panels are a highly economical and weather-resistant option available in timeless, popular shades like Polar White, Charcoal, Ash Gray, Light Stone, Burnished Slate, Koko Brown, Saddle Tan, Desert Sand, Rustic Red, Evergreen, and classic Galvalume. For larger builds, coastal wind loads, or high-traffic structures, we step up to our ultra-durable 26-gauge panels. This thicker gauge expands your customization options even further by including premium architectural finishes like Hawaiian Blue, Colony Green, Black, Matte Black, Crinkle Charcoal, and Copper Metallic. Nearly all of these color selections feature Energy Star-rated coatings with high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) values, helping to reflect the intense Florida sun and keep your livestock, equipment, or workshop significantly cooler.
See all 16 colors and the chart →Is there a warranty?
Three layers of coverage: a 5 year structural frame warranty (your frame is sound and meets Florida Building Code from the date of completion), a 40 year manufacturer's material warranty on metal roof, wall and trim panels through Mid Florida Metal, and a 1 year workmanship warranty on doors, shutters and wood wall panels, provided those items are primed, painted, caulked or sealed on all sides and edges within 10 days of completion.
What the warranty covers →Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Woodys is fully state licensed (CRC1330830) and carries all required liability and workers' compensation insurance. We pull permits and we call for inspections when the build is not AG exempt. Some agricultural properties do not require a county permit at all, and we will tell you which applies to your site.
